To develop new technologies quickly and successfully, Adtran Networks SE works with leading network operators - from open optical line systems, open terminals and pluggable multiplexers to programmable cloud access solutions and precise network synchronization. Adtran Networks SE was the first company to offer telecom operators products suitable for everyday use for 100 Gigabit transmission.

Since the company was founded in 1994 as a small startup by former leading employees of the microelectronics company Robotron Meiningen, a lot has happened: it operates worldwide and its solutions are used by more than 250 network operators and more than 10,000 companies around the world. Its customers include communications service providers, the Internet industry (Internet content providers) and organizations that build security-relevant private networks such as financial service providers, public authorities, energy suppliers, healthcare companies and media institutions. The administrative headquarters are in Martinsried, Bavaria, near Munich, while the legal domicile is Meiningen, located in the southwestern part of Thuringia on the Bavarian border.
