Geratherm Medical AG

In 1992, the company developed the measuring liquid Galinstan (from gallium, indium and stannum - lat. for tin) in its own laboratory and used it to replace mercury in thermometers. As a result, they can be recycled, used indefinitely, are non-toxic and do not require batteries. Other business areas include stroke prevention, pulmonary function diagnostics, incubators, glass production and manufacturing. Geratherm is headquartered in Geratal, 30 kilometers southwest of Erfurt.
