The products are mainly used in the automotive industry and are applied in test scenarios for automotive ECUs, car seats, bus communication, acoustic and noise analysis as well as end-of-line and eMobility applications.

Since the products have numerous applications, GÖPEL electronic GmbH has four major business units: The Automotive Test Solutions division is concerned with test solutions (test and simulation systems) for the automotive industry. The Embedded JTAG Solutions division explores new ways for reliable, high-performance testing and programming. The background is that modern electronics is characterized by increasing board complexity and decreasing accessibility. In the area of Industrial Functional Test, the focus is on customized test systems that can be used not only in the automotive industry, but in industrial electronics in general. And in the fourth area, Inspection Solutions, Göpel offers high-quality systems for the optical inspection of assembled printed circuit boards. In this way, manufacturing defects can be detected during production, such as faulty solder joints and highly polarized or incorrectly positioned components.

Incidentally, the roots of the company, which was founded in 1991, go back even further: from within the VEB Carl Zeiss Jena, a number of employees in the Measuring and Testing Technology department recognized the need for such products and joined forces with the existing expertise in the field of computer-controlled testing technology. They came across the most innovative test method for electronic components and flat assemblies at the time: JTAG/Boundary Scan. Today, the Embedded JTAG Solutions business unit develops its solutions based on the JTAG platform. The company is headquartered in Jena, Germany, with four additional locations in Great Britain, the USA, India and China.
