While the company had already included skis, gymnastics equipment and more in its main production since 1958, the triumphant march to world market leadership began in 1988 - with the expansion into a modern injection molding plant. In the years that followed, KHW launched a toboggan program whose design won national and international awards - a world first in this segment. The program also included a wide variety of different toboggan sled models - from simple devices to innovative high-tech products, a total of over 40 different models. No wonder that even today the entire product range (i.e. sleds, garden products and children's toys) is sold in over 60 countries around the world - from Greenland to Australia, from Abu Dhabi to Chile.

One of the company's great strengths is its virtually independent production capability: apart from raw materials, KHW is not dependent on purchases. This enables an enormous reaction speed, great flexibility and a very high delivery reliability. Together with the technically high-quality products, these aspects confirm the market leadership again and again. In order to maintain the high standard, the research and development department of KHW cooperates with leading research institutes and universities and thus constantly optimizes the processes, procedures and products. The high quality of the products is confirmed by the Stifterverband with the award "Innovative through Research" as well as the seal of TÜV Thüringen and the spielgut seal.

The company is aware of its plastic production responsibility and therefore relies on bio-based and biodegradable plastics. The prime example is the manufactured reusable drinking cup CUPITO - the first recyclable cup on the market that allows sorting at the end of its life cycle and is free of prints, foils, etc. The company is headquartered in Geschwenda, a part of the town of Geratal, 30 kilometers southwest of Erfurt.
